Lewis Hamilton
Británico · 2007–presente
Lewis Hamilton is the most decorated driver in history in wins and poles, and equals Schumacher with seven world titles. Raised in Stevenage and backed by McLaren from childhood, he burst onto the scene in 2007 with such force that he came within a single point of the championship in his rookie year.
He made amends in 2008, clinching his first title on the final corner of the last race in Brazil, snatching it from Felipe Massa metres from the line. In 2013 he made a bold call: leaving McLaren for a Mercedes built around the coming hybrid rules. The gamble proved historic — six championships in seven years (2014-2020) and the most dominant team of an entire era.
In 2021 he fought Verstappen in one of the most intense duels in memory, and in 2025 he took on a fresh challenge in Ferrari red. His wet-weather speed, consistency and race management place him at the summit of the sport; off track, his activism for diversity has widened Formula 1's reach.
